Posting Remotely

DSC01113

I will be posting remotely for a while, my grandfather passed away this morning so I am leaving tomorrow at 5am to Puerto Rico for the funeral. I am going to try and post a few things remotely but am not sure if I will have any success. I'm going to need something bright to get through this and stamping is my bright spot.. Before I leave I wanted to post this card that I made. This is a congratulatory card  to keep in my stash. I have three pregnant friends and they are all having girls!! It's like an epidemic now. I have yet to know anyone who has had a boy this year. I guess births ebb and flow like everything else. This is just the high tide for girls right now.

Remembering Friends..

DSC00970

Being an Army family we tend to move around a lot and leave friends behind so I try to send out a thinking of you card or something like it every once and a while. I have a few wine drinking pals that I could send this one too. The stamps are MFT.  Image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The tag says You're Never Forgotten and hopefully they know they never are... I carry them with me always. As a young military wife they helped me through TDY's, deployments and a tour in Korea.  I don't know what I would have done without them. Cheers to all my wine and margarita girls!!

Free and the Brave

DSC01028

Happy Memorial Day Weekend to you all.  I hope everyone, as you are enjoying this beautiful weekend, will take a moment to reflect on the thousands that have given their lives  in service to this nation and all the amazing things it was founded on and stands for still today. Each of the fallen are this nations son, or daughter. From our family to all of yours Happy Memorial Day Weekend. I'm not sure if this card  works for me or not but I wanted to color the image to match the DP which is Provo Craft. I used Prismacolor Markers. It's another card making it's way to another deployed friend.

Umbrella.. Ella..Ella..Ella...Ella

DSC00969

Ok is this not the most fun DP. I love that coral like color and everything about it. I would wallpaper my stuff with it if I thought my husband and sons would let me (never going to happen) I'm not sure why I love it but I know I do. I made sure I didn't buy too much of it though. I have a tendency to buy too many sheets of DP with the excuse of buying so many so that I won't worry about using a few sheets but them I always save it for something and never use it so I bought only a few and kept it out so I would really want to use it the more I  looked at it. The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The saying if from the MFT set Rainy day I believe). My stamping gal pal sent them to me. The ribbon is Mikes. Did I mention how much I LOVE this paper?

Hoppin by...

DSC00988

I adore Melanie's animals. Their faces are so expressive and happy. The cupcake image is from a dollar set I got at Mike's. The matting was done with my perfect layers set. I LOVE this tool. I used it all the time in scrapbooking and card making. I also used my Nesties to cut out the main image. The DP I think is American Crafts. The saying was typed on my computer and punched out with my SU! slot punch. The dew drops a little something to it for pizzazz. One of my more masculine card making attempts. Hence no *sparkle*

Another Fairy

DSC00985

This fairy is so amazing. She is so delicate and beautiful. I find myself returning to her repeatedly. The DP is Lollia from Hobby Lobby. The cardstock is CM. You can't really see it in the photo but the DP sparkles. The fairy is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The main image  has Dew Drops in the corners. She also has stickled wings. I have two sons sometimes I go overboard with the sparkle.

Gardenbella is Back Dressed in SC174!

DSC01030

Stamping Bella meets Papertrey. I just love this DP that I found at Michaels. I used the Beautiful Blooms Set from Papertrey to stamp the border and the sentiment tag. The ink is Versamagic in Spring Pansy and Purple Hydrangea. The cardstock is DCWV and CM. The Bella image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. SC174 was my inspiration for this layout.

You Can Stand Under My Umbrella

DSC00987

This is such an adorable set from MFT. I love everything about it. The ribbon is from the Stamping Bella herself. The DP is from DCWV it's in their Christmas pack. If you find your holiday paper collection piling up make sure you go through it and see if there's anything you can use. If I find myself looking for a red, green or blue then I check my Christmas grouping to see if I find something that can work there. The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

Life's in Bloom!

DSC00968

Don't you just love this MFT set. She seems so elegant to me. Like a genteel southern lady. Reminds me of the gals in Steel Magnolias for some reason. The DP and cardstock I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol and a few Copics. The ink is Versamagic Jumbo Java.

In My Prayers

DSC00982

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set. I was so sorry that I missed out on Godspeed when it came out that I jumped on this set as soon as I got my catalog. I am burning up the rubber making many cards. I have a very close friend that works with the Wounded Warrior Unit and she was loving this stamp and looking for cards for them so these images are going to be some of the ones I use to make them. I know the sentiment is grammatically incorrect but I wanted to get it posted. This card, once corrected is head to a dear friend in Afghanistan.  He is on his Sixth deployment away from his family. I hope you'll all take a minute to offer up a prayer for all men and women who answer the call to duty and serve this nation faithfully.

DSC01100

Aren't they GORGEOUS!! Think of all the beautiful cards I can make with these babies. It's going to take me FOREVER to sharpen them though LOL.

Father's Day Jump

There are so many things you want to say to your dad. The stamps says it all so very well. As soon as I saw it I had to have it. It'll make a perfect complement to those Papertrey sets I just got.

Last of the Mom's Day Cards

DSC01058 DSC01059

These are the last of the mom's day cards I cranked out over the past few weeks. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Alli Miles set. I can't wait to get my inky little hands on the Mailbox set.. I am also busy inking up the rubbah that I got for Mother's Day from my DH and sons. Keep watching for a photo of my mother's day gifting..

New Cast of Awareness

DSC01109 DSC01111

Well were back in a cast. The doc says not enough healing  yet to know whether or not he'll need surgery. Three more weeks in his cast should tell the tale. Jarrett chose pink in honor of his Godmother who is currently battling breast cancer for the second time. He wanted to honor her and show his support.  I am often amazed at the capacity of my children to show love  and support in unique ways. When the tech asked what color and Jarrett said pink, I was puzzled. I thought that he was kidding and when the tech asked if he was sure that's when I learned Jarrett's reason behind choosing pink. Never underestimate the understanding of your children and the depth of their devotion to those they love. There were grown men in that cast room today that couldn't believe a young man in middle school would wear a pink cast for three weeks.  I am so proud of my son and his love and support he sends his godmother.

Mom's Day Cards

DSC01056 DSC01055 DSC01057

These are more of my  *mom's day collection*. The middle card was the one I made for my mom. I found the ribbon at Mike's and centered my card around the ribbon. Can you tell I LOVE the flowers just a little too much. This year I made all of the Mother's Day cards that we sent out.. Makes DH feel better to know that although I am spending money on supplies, we are saving a FORTUNE on cards. Most holidays we used to spend around $50 on cards for all of the wonderful women and men in our family. Now I just buy supplies and make them myself.

Happy Mother's Day!!

My best to all of you on this special day. We are running most of the morning. We celebrate Pentacost Sunday today so we are attending our church twice this morning because our sons are part of the youth group acting out the scripture this morning. What better way to spend mother's day than with the two people in my life that I am most proud of, and that make me a part of this special day. The two amazing young men that made me a mom. Happy Mother's Day Ya'll many blessings to you. I hope your days are filled with whatever makes them blissful for you.

Piece of Cake

DSC00981

This is the last card DH received, it was from our youngest son. Very simple with no frills, that was what my youngest sons requested for his dad's card. My hubby thought that the cards really reflected the people that gave them to him. Too funny huh?

More of Cupcakeabella

DSC00972

Don't ya just love the Bellas. I am totally addicted to them. I have to avoid the web site because I just can't stop myself from ordering them when I see them. The Bella was colored with Prismacolor Markers, Pencils and Gamsol. The DP is DCWV. The flowers are cuttlebuged chipboard. My SU! slot punch was used for the sentiment. She just screams Spring doesn't she?

Cupcake Bella

DSC00983

I gave this card to my DH for his birthday. It's a stretch but the gal on the cupcake is suppose to be me. He loves the cards I make. The boys each picked out a card of their own for him from my stash of Masculine B-Day cards. The DP is Bohemia and DCWV the CS are Cool Carribean (FAVE!) and Chocolate Chip, also a FAVE! She's colored with Copic and Prismacolor Markers except for her hair which is colored with Prismacolor Pencils.

Pieced MFT

DSC00974

I am new to paper piecing. My pal Dawn is a paper piecing GENIUS. She sent me these images already stamped on DP and on plain cardstock. So I thought I should give it a try. This was made with Beate's WSC45. The image is colored with Copics and Prismacolor Markers. The little doggie has some bling on his collar, it's kind of hard to see but IRL it shows up well. Can I just say I {heart} Cool Carribean, Beate's sketches, and my sweet friend Dawn.

Princess is in..

DSC00922

DP: Paper Studio

Stamps: Pretty Princess SU!

Mish Mash Sketch

DSC00973

Think Pink is a fabulous set. I love that you can change the card by changing the color of the ribbon. I use it to make my thinking of you cards for my friends who have hubby's deployed. I just color the ribbon yellow instead of pink. For this card though I used a Mish Mash sketch and the pink theme. I know it doesn't show up well but the dress on the right is colored red. It shows up much better IRL. The white strip is also askew in this photo but it has since been fixed.

Land of the Free because it's the home of the Brave

DSC00966

Having friends deployed has been a constant thing for our family during this war in Afghanistan and Iraq. DH has been in the Army for over 18 years and we have made many friends along the way. Any of you who are military know that on this journey you make friends that become family. One of my closest friends and her DH are now undergoing their 6th deployment. This card was made for him.  So while I am sad to see my husband leaving I feel really foolish for complaining about one deployment as opposed to their six. I'm not sure where I saw the quote on my card but when I saw it I wrote it down and have had it with me for years now. It rings so true. I am often amazed by the Servicemembers we have been blessed to have in our lives over the years we are very fortunate.

Papertrey Anniversary Set

DSC00964

Here's another card made with the Chic and Fabulous Papertrey anniversary set. The bible quote is typed on my computer and punched out with my scalloped punch. The dew drop is a little added bling.  Again the stamps are all from the anniversary set that you earned free with the purchase of twelve regular sets (minis not included) of stamps. The WSC39  sketch challenge by Beate was used to put this together.

Look What I Got Done This Morning!

DSC00989

This morning is the culmination of several days of work.. While we were spending all that time at the doctor's with my youngest I had taken my Prismacolor Pencils and many sheets of stamped images with me. I colored while we waited and when I brought the images home I gamsoled them up and they were ready to be used. I meanwhile had several cards covered with DP and ready also. This morning I trimmed down my images added some matting, bling ribbon and sentiments and TADA!!!!! In about one hour I had completed 9 cards. Some of the simpler images are for a collection of cards that I want to give my sons to chose from for my DH whose birthday is this weekend. And NO the fairies aren't in that collection. HA HA HA!

Pamper Yourself

DSC00924

I made this card for a pal who has several kids for mom's day. I know that many times she is so busy taking care of her kids and running them around that she forgets to take care of herself so I'm giving her this and some sweet smelling lotions and bath things to encourage her to take a minute to treat herself.

It's Casted!!!!

DSC00979

Well, it's official, my streak is over. I had gone over 16 years without a child having broken bones and here is my youngest with the first cast my children have ever had. He's apparently broken the WORST bone to break, one that doesn't heal sometimes and would therefore require SURGERY!. We are keeping the cast for two weeks then they'll remove it and x-ray again to see if it's healing if it is they will recast and keep the cast for several weeks, if healing isn't progressing then we talk surgery and pins for his little bone and then back into a cast to finish healing.. Can I just say YIKES!!!!! Pictured there with my youngest is our furbaby Georgie. Isn't he the cutest.

Billboardabella

DSC00942

Yes I know it's another Bella. She's a great one though because you can make her to suit any occasion that you have by changing your colors and the message on her board. The DP is some that I got on clearance in the stationary department at Target. The CS is whisper white and DCWV Coral. The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol I used my Nesties to cut her and the border mat out.
