Rainy Days in Bright Pink...

JulyCraftiness 008

Happy Monday everyone.. sorry for not posting Friday.. between our schedules and the Migranes that seem to have found me recently I was wiped out! Here's my Monday card.. Another Rainy Day Surprise.  Who wouldn't  love to get this pretty in pink girl to brighten their birthday. I just LOVE her.. she is so much fun to piece as are many of her friends over at MFT Stamps. The background DP I found in my stash and the cardstock is DCWV, CM, HL and GP, and Neenah. I used my perfect layers to mat the main image and my nesties to cut out my sentiment. My Copics were used to color in the parts that weren't pieced. Hope she brings brightness to your Monday.

Blue Stripped Golf Wishes..

JulyCraftiness 019

Not being a golfer I find it hard to understand the allure of chasing a little white ball around for an hour or two.. that being said my Dad LOVES golf.  So much so that he even watches it on TV!  So I got the Fella with him in mind. I think he's rather cute.. IMHO! My DP is from a stash of DP. My main image is of course a Fella from Stamping Bella. I colored him in with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I purposefully left the sentiment off so I customize it when I need it..  Hope you find him as darling as I do..

MFT Rain Wrapped in a Bellariffic Challenge!

JulyCraftiness 009

Em over at Stamping Bella offers weekly challenges if you're in a rut and even if you're not.. head over there each Tuesday for a new sketch and the chance to win some Bella Bucks.  Check out Em's blog (linked in my blog roll) for the FABULOUS creations on Friday's. I created this card with one of the sketches that caught my eye. If a sketch interests me I jot it down on a post it and keep it on my desk until I find the right time to use it. After I use them I add them to a sketch book I keep ( a la Michelle Wooderson) for my faves. Hope you like it..

Farewell Senator Kennedy

This morning I learned that Senator Ted Kennedy passed away.. It feels like the end of an era to me.. I am old enough to remember the story of Camelot and the famed and seemingly infamous history of the Kennedy Family. While I may not have agreed with his politics, Senator Kennedy was a faithful servant to this nation and his passing so soon after his sisters is another terrible tragedy in a long history of both great joys and great sadness for "America's family".  Farewell Senator Kennedy and may you sleep peacefully in your eternal rest. The Liberal Lion of the Senate is at rest now. God Speed your soul as it joins you're parents, siblings and  loved ones, I am sure they are waiting with open arms and smiles.

MFT Gratitude..

JulyCraftiness 015

Gratitude is often an unexpressed emotion. Sometimes we get caught up in the business in the day to day of our routines and we forget to acknowledge the kind gestures that are bestowed upon us by caring individuals. I am trying to be better about recognizing the people who make my world a sweeter place. This card is a means to that end. The DP is DCWV for both the paper piercing and background. The cardstock is DCWV, HL, Neenah, CM and GP. I used my Papertrey stamps to create the sentiment and my nesties to cut it out. The main image and borders are created with my perfect layers. The main image is finished with Copics.

PJ Riley is Back!

JulyCraftiness 006Here he is back in all his resplendent glory! This time he's Riley and not Sophia.. I LOVE that I can change a lot of the Hanna Stamps Riley's to match the recipient of the card. This Riley is going into my stash. I am donating to Keiki Cards. They are a non-profit group based in Hawaii that sends cards to sick kids around the world. My goal is to send them 150-250 cards by summer of next year. I hope I am on track to meet that goal. They don't only send out get well wishes though they send out birthdays, holidays ect.. I hope you like him and they love him..

PJ Riley is my FAVORITE!

I just adore her!     JulyCraftiness 014          Don't you? She is one of my absolute FAVORITE Riley's/Sophia's. I make a  lot of cards for sick kids with this Riley. I think it's sweet and adorable. I used some DP from HL for my background of this card. The cardstock is DCWV, CM HL and GP. I used my Copics to color her and her sweet teddy. The ribbon is from Mike's. The flower is a prima I got in a swap. The sentiment I created on my computer then punched out with my SU! punch. Hope you like her as much as I do..

Striped Thoughts of You in Blue..

JulyCraftiness 002

I LOVE LOVE LOVE paper piercing this image.. it gives it such a punch. It's difficult to make out but the DP I used has a batik print on it. I think it gives it a very island feel with that pale blue color. It's the color of my favorite beach.. if you ever get to visit Hawaii (lucky you) make sure you're in a window seat so that you can look out as your making the final approach.. you will see some of the most beautiful water you've ever seen.  But back to the card.. I made this with one of those images I cut out on our Kansas trip.. you'll be seeing quite a few more.. what can I say.. I like to keep busy while cooped up in my car..  Wait until you see the Vintage Picnic paper piecing I've been doing while running around with my boys this summer. I hope you like the card.. I am replenishing my stack for RAK giving.

Swing by with some wishes..

JulyCraftiness 022

These lil Changito monkey's are adorable aren't they? I saw this one and just had to have him.. Thought he was so cute with his little bunch of flowers. While I am not a fan of monkey's in general some of these Changito's are too cute to resist. I left the sentiment off so I could alter it as necessary. I am aiming to keep my cards simple.. but I plan on adding some bling to the corners when I add my sentiment..

Card Specs:

DP: Scrap Stash

Cardstock: CM, HL, DP

Stamps: Changito's

Card Specs:

DP: Scraps Stash

To You O Lord..

JulyCraftiness 001

I love this Psalm.. it speaks to the heart of what I want to say when offering comfort to someone. It's so special to be able to honor a friendship by offering comfort to a troubled friend. As a military spouse I have not always had family by my side in tough times and I am blessed to have a group of good friends who've stood by me when I have faltered. I am also blessed enough to have had the opportunity to return that blessing. This card is in my stash for any such occasion.

Card Specs:

DP: HL

Cardstock: HL, Neehnah, CM, DCWV, GP

Stamps: MFT Stamps

Accessories: Copics, Perfect Layers, CM Trimmer, SU! Punch, Mike's Bling

Flying by with Congrats!

JulyCraftiness 018

I created this card with my oldest and his pals in mind. Their school colors are red and black.. I decided to make up a few of these.. This sentiment screams graduation to me.. Maybe it's because that was all I could think about two months ago. I am an avid fan of the Riley and Sophia line.. They are the absolute CUTEST!  Hopefully the recipient likes him as much as I do.. This is a rather large image and the swirls I made with chalk to illustrate more clouds doesn't show up well here.. Looks better IRL. This card was simply made with some large blingage added to the corners for a sparkle effect!

Veggie Girl in Blue..

JulyCraftiness 024

Doesn't she make you just want to run out and plant something!  She's so cute she almost makes me want to live on a farm! Notice I said almost.. I am so afraid of bugs that it's not even funny.. Total wuss when it comes to the creepy crawlies.. Then why I am in south Texas you ask?? Because this really cute boy kissed me about 16 years ago and I've been head over heals ever since :).. But I digress.. My DP is from my scraps box. The cardstock is CM, HL, and Neenah. I used my nesties to cut out my main image and matted with my perfect layers. I added a Prima with a stickled center to complete the look.. If you haven't noticed I leave many of my cards without sentiments so that when I need them I can personalize them to the occasion.

Cookin up some good wishes..

JulyCraftiness 025

I received this Bella in a swap.. while she's not one I would have bought I think she's adorable. Wouldn't she be great for a dinner  or  Pampered Chef party invite? She's going into my stash but I already have an idea where I want to send her. The DP is from HL. the cardstock from DCWV, HL, and  Neenah. The main image is cut out with my nesties and matted with my perfect layers. The flower came in a prima share. The middle of the flower is accented with a stickled dot. I leave most of my cards sentiment free so I can tailor them to my needs at that time. Hope you like her.. Today is the day I made my debut on this earth.. Kudos to my mom for persevering through the two day labor.. I salute her today and always as my mom and my friend..

Show Them Some Love!

JulyCraftiness 023

I have a few friends whose DH's are stationed both in Afghanistan and Iraq. I also have a dear cousin currently deployed in Iraq. I LOVE this image.. It's one of my faves. My DH being Active Duty military I have an unwavering amount of respect for what these soldier's and their families go through to keep this country free. My DH works with Wounded Warriors and we have seen first hand the carnage of war. But we also have been so very blessed to witness the triumph of the Human Spirit. I am creating these cards and other like them to send to those we love to keep in touch.

Sending You Some Brown and Blue!

JulyCraftiness 004

This DP is in my stash of hoarded paper.. I jut LOVE the Retro Pack from DCWV.. I bought a couple when they came out. I have used it sparingly since I saw they weren't selling it anymore. The flower is also in my embellishment kit.. I try to keep some of my faves close at hand... this is one of them. The main image is from MFT Stamps Rainy Day Set. The raincoat is paper pieced and the rest is colored with my Copics.. This is one of my favorite color combos.. I love the cool blues and brown. The border dots are stickles. Hope you like my card.. Sorry for the lack of post yesterday.. as I am getting myself ready to job hunt I have less time for other things.  I used my mainstay Perfect Layers and Nesties to complete this project.
