Embrace Life

DSC01461

My stampin pal Jen and I are sharing images. She brought this one over to share with me the other day. I loved this stamp set from the moment I saw it but alas the budget doesn't allow me to have all that I love. I used Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip to stamp the images and the sentiment. The DP is from Hobby Lobby and I used my nesties to cut out the leafy image. The flowers are popped with different sizes of pop dots to give dimension. I just adore this set.. Maybe the lottery fairy will smile on me so that my budget matches my love list.

Melanie's Challenges!

DSC01281If you are a regular reader of my blog you know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE Melanie Muenchinger's stamp sets. You can find them HERE!  Melanie is always generous and encouraging us to use our stamps and she's had several challenges recently on her blog giving away free stamps or supplies. These are all of my entries for both of Melanie's challenges. Did I mention how much I LOVE her animals??? Many of these cards are going to Keiki Cards. It's an organization that sends special occasion cards to sick children and the rest will head to Afghanistan in a few weeks. Oh by the was I was lucky enough to win one of Melanie's challenges... I won her brand spankin new Cuddles and Hugs set. OMG it is toooooo adorable you can find them HERE! If you want to check out this fabulous designer you can find her HERE!

I'm Back!!!

Well it's official DH has left. It was a tearful goodbye for the kids and I  and a painful departure for him. Although we've been doing this for a while this time it seems harder. I think it was because he was so close to retirement. I know that November will be especially hard for me because it's when he'll complete training and head to Iraq but also because he was suppose to be putting in his retirement papers that month. I think I was unknowingly waiting for that day but that day isn't going to come when planned. Well, I've waited before and I'll wait again. Him coming home safe is all that I need from all of this. Well... enough rambling.. I'll be back later with a card.

Away for a Few Days

Hey All,

As saturday draws nearer we are trying ever so hard to spend more time together. Dh will be gone for almost 16 months so we are trying to spend most of our time together doing family things. So I will be MIA here for a few days. I am however working on a few challenges while DH and sons spend time alone together. Thanks for being patient..

This card was created using Beate's WSC #52. Beate is on hiatus right now but you should check out her blog and look for past sketches and give them a try. SC181

DSC01213

I saw this phrase somewhere on Splitcoast. I used my Simple Alphabet from Papertrey to add it to my plane banner. It's another card to send DH while he's deployed. The first half of this year has FLOWN by but I can only imagine that the second will crawl once he's gone. I love this Riley stamp cause you can customize him to say almost anything as long as you can fit it on the banner. I'm going to have to try paper piecing some clothes onto him one day. The DP is DCWV as is most of the cardstock. The ribbon is Mike's.
