Blooming with Happiness

DSC00944

I just adore this Bella. The sentiment I created on my computer and all you SU! people will know the phrase is the name of a set of stamps made by SU! It is also one of my faves. She is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I again used my perfect layers for matting. The DP is from Hobby Lobby. I also used my slot punch.

Bella Thank You

DSC00927

I just love how you can customize this Bella. For those of you with Snap Stamps, she is a must have because you can put any message you want into her billboard. She's colored with Prismacolor Markers and Pencils and Gamsol was used on the penciled parts. I used my CM scalloped scissors to make the decorative border and my Perfect Layers to make sure my mats were straight and even. The DP is from Paper Studio and American Crafts. The Thank You is a K & Company Rub-On. There are also some stickles on her chest and a little bling on the side.

WSC44

DSC00965

While I loved this sketch I am not loving this card. I think it's too busy and that the sentiment is lost. Maybe if I had used a stripe and a print I would have liked it better. Well I guess that they can't all be winners right?  In my defense it was made late at night while I was on  medication.. Does that say how desperate I am to play with the fabulous sketches that Beate comes up with, I know I've got problems. Hello my name is Michelle and I'm addicted to stamping..

Card Ingredients:

Cardstock: Whisper White, DCWV Lime Green

DP: DCWV Glitter Mat Stack

Stamps: Blooming With Happiness

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Accessories:Slot Punch, Marvy Punch, Nesties, Copic Marker, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol

Bragging Time!

I'm afraid that I'll be using my Sunday post to brag a little about my youngest son. He received notification yesterday that he was nominated as an All American Scholar by his journalism teacher. Jarrett is a very humble young man with a great sense of humor. We were so pleased to see him recognized not only for his academics but for his character. The letter he received informed him of his acceptance and approval as an  All American Scholar and we are ever so proud of him.

Card and Emergency Room Visit

DSC00920 Here's my card for the day and a little story to entertain you.. On Wednesday afternoon my youngest son came home from school in need of a little medical attention. There had been an accident in  his last period of the day and he had fallen being the cushion for two other kids that fell on top of him (imagine dominos, my baby being the last domino to fall and the other kids the dominos that fell on him) So we cleaned his cuts and scrapes, gave him some Motrin for the pain and helped him finish his homework ( he's a lefty with an injured left hand.) Well yesterday around lunch the nurse's office calls, Jarrett is there when I arrive she says she thinks there may be a hairline fracture there, the hand was a little swollen, but he was in pain and having trouble writing. One ER visit later Jarrett is in a soft cast for 10 days to determine whether or not his bone (apparently the worst in your body to break because it takes the longest to heal)   is actually fractured (something about difficult to tell and if they see healing after the 10 days they'll know for sure it was broken then he'll need a permanent cast for 12 WEEKS!!!)  I couldn't believe it, our oldest son is almost 17 our youngest son 13 and this is the FIRST broken bone we have had. I must add too that my youngest never does anything halfway so him breaking the bone that takes the longest to heal... but I want you to know he kept his humor about him saying to me laughing  while they were putting on the soft cast ( " guess next time you shouldn't push me down mom and step on my hand")  What a sense of humor huh? Keep watching to see if the cast becomes permanent.

DP: Pocket of Posies

Stamps: Hanging Sign by Bella, Butterfly Kisses PTI

Recycling a BEAUTIFUL note!!

DSC00938

I got the main image from a little notecard sent to me by the uber talented Trudee Sauer. I used one of Jen del Muro's SFYTT. You can always count on Jen's sketches to get your mojo flowing and after the week we've had( see posts below) I needed help with my mojo.  You can't really tell in the photo but there are three different colors and layers of cardstock used here. It just didn't photograph well. Happy Sunday to you all...

Deployment....

Let me preface this post by saying it does NOT have a happy ending. Any of you who are military or associated with folks that are know that this word strikes sadness in your heart as soon as you hear it... I am posting today feeling very sad and unable to get my creativity flowing.. I sit and my desk and think about living alone for a year and a half with two teenage sons and it makes me want to CRY!!!DH seemed off yesterday but brushed aside my concerns about his mood yesterday afternoon ( kids in the room). Last night when the house was quiet he sprung a gem on me.. He's on orders for Iraq. Understand I am an Army Wife and will handle this deployment in stride, when I heard what he said I laughed at first cause I thought he was messing with me, since he is already on TDY orders to return involuntarily to recruiting duty for 3 months, and started to cry when I looked at him and saw the seriousness in his face...The initial shock of orders has never sat well with me over our 14 years of marriage but this one is especially hard to swallow since DH is about 6 months away from putting in his retirement papers... I keep sitting down at my  desk and trying to use the new stamps I got hoping to distract myself from the knot in the pit of my stomach but I just can't seem to focus. I just feel bizarre. Like I'm living in some alternate reality. I thought maybe releasing it all here would help.. Thanks for listening...
