Papertrey flower scream spring.. Although summer is in full swing here in south Texas I long the cooler spring days of last year. This year we seemed to go from winter to the dead of summer. YIKES it's HOT! Anyway here's a cute little thank you in pretty spring and summer colors. The DP is Paper Studio and The cardstock is DCWV and Georgia Pacific. The sentiment was type and printed from my computer then punched out with my Marvy Punch.

Every Saturday Jen posts one of these amazing sketches and and inspires with her incredible sketches.. She helps keep me out of a rut.. I try to complete her sketch challenge every week. You should head over to her blog to check it out. The card was made with DP from Hobby Lobby and ribbon from Mike's. The Images is mated with chocolate chip paper using my perfect layers. I created this card for my friends little girl who is too adorable. While there are definite drawbacks to being in the military, meet new friends is a true blessing. The DP is making memories and DCWV as is some of the cardstock. The Fairy is so sparkly IRL. She is colored with Copics. I added the dew drops for a little pizzaz.

AMYRS28
This card is to encourage my friends whose always BUSY BUSY BUSY to stop and enjoy her life.. I love these colors This coral looking pink makes me feel happy. Maybe if I surround myself with this color while DH is in Iraq it will help keep my spirits up. A little something to make ya go HHHMMM???? See the bling in the flower? I tried my hand at outlining to shadow in this one.. It's a lot easier to see IRL.

Longing for You
As the time draws nearer for DH to head out I keep creating cards to make that I can send to him. I know it won't take long before this little sentiment is going to rule my heart. No one except another military wife can understand the heartache of sending your husband to war. I have lived in denial but as the time draws closer I live with this terrible feeling in the pit of my tummy, dreading the day when he leaves.

WSC 50
Tier of Treats was one of those stamps that I just had to have. I usually buy my stamps from 3 places, Stampin' Up,Papertrey,Gina K Designs, but when I saw this stamp I had to have it and went out in search of it. I found it at my LSS. I believe the DP is American Crafts, the ribbon is Mike's and the image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I just adore the phrase " Life is Uncertain, eat dessert FIRST!" isn't that the truth..

SC176
Isn't this DP too cute with the Inner Tube Riley? The phrase on the tag is a K&Co rub-on. The DP is all from the same company. It's part of a really bright pack I've been hoarding for a long time. But in an effort to use some of that paper I took out my large trimmer the other day and cut into pieces many sheets of my collection of papers into card making sizes. I have a large stack on my desk along with cards to cover with DP that way when I am done coloring an image I can pick a cardstock to match and get to work assembling the card. I also am able to pick the cardstock out before I color my image and color the image to coordinate with the DP I choose.

I Adore this fairy!!
Is this fairy not the most sparkly thing ever. Having two sons I so glitter isn't easy to come by in my house. Since I am a girly girly I tend to be a little heavy handed with the stickles. This card is a case in point. I used dew drops for the accents and The ribbon is mikes. The DP is Making Memories I believe.

Mailboxes are Popular Again
Isn't this set of mailboxes to die for! I love these adorable little boxes. You can do anything with them and the set has so many extras that it makes the variables too numerous to count. I used my nesties to cut out the image and the DP is Hobby Lobby. I used a dew drop to accent my slot phrase.
SC178 Father's Day 6
Another Father's Day card. I tried to keep these simple and clean. Our family has no metrosexual men, they are all guys guys and so I tried to keep the cards in styles that would suit them.

SC179 Father's Day 5
Another's Father's Day card. What an amazing phrase. I immediately think of my grandfather when I hear this phrase. He has always led our family by his wonderful example. We are all so blessed to have him as the Patriarch of our family. He is a true gift from God and we love him so very much. The DP is from the DCWV Retro Pack, and the cardstock is DCWV and Whisper White.
TECC 19 Father's Day 4
Yet another Father's Day card. The stamps are all papertrey. The DP is Wild Asparagus. The cardstock is DCWV and Papertrey's White.

This father's day card was made for my DFIL. He is the kindest man you will ever meet. I hear many of my friends horror stories about their in-laws but I must say that mine are dear sweet people and I am a very lucky girl. I used Papertrey's Pond life set to make this card.

Bella Fairy Strikes Again
I used a QKD sketch to create this card. The sketch was designed by Heidi K. The DP is from Hobby Lobby. The brown strips are DCWV. The Bella image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The prima centers are dotted with stickles as are the Bellas wings.
SC177
I made this was using the one of my all time favorite masculine sets from Papertrey. I love this little tree and all the sayings included in the set. I hope that in the future they will offer a supplemental set of sentiments and words that encompasses all the men in our lives that make it special. My sons are blessed enough to have not just a wonderful father and grandfathers but two amazing Godfather's. So the cards you will see over the next few days will have been made for all of them. The DP used was American Crafts, the cardstock is DCWV and Georgia Pacific.

Here's my take on Taylor's Cupcake Challenge sketch. I love using all these amazing sketches from fabulous designers. They really help me think outside my comfort zone. If I don't use these ideas to spark me then I tend to get stuck in a rut doing the same old same old. This sketch uses one of Mel's uber cute animals from her Just so Hippy set. You can find it here at Gina K Designs. Mel's giving away free stamps at her blog. If you already own any of her sets you can enter for a chance to win more of her too cute images.

So here it is. If you like the sketch challenges go over to the Papertrey forum and check these out. I used mostly Papertrey stamps, aside from the fabulousity of the Bella. I also used Primas and dew drops to punch it up.. The Bella is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The inks are Papertrey.

Thank Yous
Moving in the military usually means a lot of packing and stress and leaving cherished friends and colleagues. As Sam begins to clear we begin to say good-bye to the people who have helped make San Antonio a home for us. Although the kids and I are staying Sam leaving means saying good-bye to the co-workers who welcomed us in with open arms when we were the new kids on the block. I made these cards with the intent of giving them to the different sections that helped to makes Sam's "Farewell" so memorable. We are so thankful to all of them for making Sam's short time here such a great experience.
Never Forgotten
Living so far from family is hard when your active duty military but the friends you make become like your family.. This is a card I made to honor them. I wanted to let them know that even though miles separate us they are always in my thoughts and prayers. While stationed together we shared many glasses of wine.

Fairy Beautiful
More of this too stinkin cute fairy. The DP is from Michaels. I love these two colors together. I am not a big fan of the whole purple thing but I just love this paper. The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I love how you can shade with the pencils and make sure that the image matches perfectly with the DP. I also used stickles to vamp up the wings. The dew drops add punch to the corners of the image.

Mojo #36
Is this not the cutest DP ever. I just love these two colors. They are one of my fave color combos. I can't wait to place another order with Bella Land. I have seen soo many cute stamps that were added since I last ordered. I need to cash my lottery ticket so I can order all the stamps my little heart desires (ha ha ha) and of course buy a bigger house to hold it all.
I'm Back and Exhausted..
Well.. I'm don't know why but my scheduled posts didn't post like they were suppose to do. Not sure why or what happened though. But I'm back and since I had to leave unexpectedly for my Grandfather's funeral I am behind in several projects that I had scheduled for the past week. My grandfather's funeral was unbelievably hard to go through. It is a lengthy process in Puerto Rico. There are two days of viewing and then the funeral mass then the day after he was interred the Novena begins. It's nine days of prayers for my grandfather and the acceptance of his soul into heaven. My grandfather, while he had his faults, was a remarkable and funny man. He was a retired school principal of over 30 years. He was funny, kind and could cook a mean pernil (for those who aren't familiar with Puerto Rican cooking it's a roast leg of pork) YUM YUM YUM!!! He is survived by his wife, three children, two daughter in laws, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren six brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. His memory will be treasured and missed by all of us. He was a remarkable man with many friends and we are all the better having shared our moments and lives with him.
