A Better Look @ the Goodies!

Here are two of the Notepads from my large order! They were very well received by the lady who ordered them from me. I was thrilled that she was so pleased. They may be a little plain in terms of what I normally make (notice the absence of bling?) but they are exactly what she requested and she was really happy with them. There is always such a satisfaction to making something yourself and having the person you made them for be so thrilled with it. It was a large order so I am hoping for her to be a repeat customer. I hope these little cuties inspire you to do something creatively patriotic today! It is almost the end of the year and I wanted to thank all of you loyal followers of my blog, even if I have been lax in posting this year you are understanding and still kind with you praise. Largest Order Ever!

Long time no blog! Things here have been hectic to say the very least. Not only is it my youngest sons Senior Year, he is also the Battalion Commander to over 270 cadets and I have been an active volunteer with the program for years and this year DH and I have kicked it into overdrive. I am also back in school full-time. Not to mention the tiny note that we are expecting our first grandchild in March. We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Baby Nicholas! On to the crafting…There are 50 notepads here that have been given the Designer Aloha touch! These were made for a gal at the Warrior and Family Support Center and I am thrilled to be delivering them this week. I will be posting more pictures my later but I thought I’d give a little tease today. I hope you have all been well. May this post inspire you to do something crafty today! HOOAH with a Dash of Red White and Blue

Here is another of my favorites created for a good friend. The Army background pairs so nicely with the Grand ol Flag doesn’t it? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ribbon I used on this notepad. I stumbled upon it one day when I stopped by a craft store. The image is a stamping bella image I acquired years ago and that I still love today. Its perfect for the front of a notepad. If you look really closely you can see I even made the briefcase camo! Is that cute or what! I hope this notepad inspires you to do something creative today! Regards to you and yours. Now that the kiddos are back in school (as am I LOL) GO GET CRAFTY! After the long hot summer you deserve some good fun craft time!

Happy August..

Its hard to believe that the summer is drawing to a close. My youngest is already back up at the High School. I guess being the Battalion Commander comes with a lot more responsibility than being the Company Commander. I have to say its hilarious to see him as leader. He is definitely his father’s son. He has a look that makes people wilt but he’s smart enough not to use it often. Its new territory for me to see him mature and come into his own. Last weekend I celebrated my 41st birthday and was lucky to have my boys and DH make my day special. But I think that Jarrett being a senior made the day a little sad. I think of it in terms of a year of lasts. Its his last year in High School. Its my last birthday with him living at home with us. It’s the last First Day of Senior year. So many lasts that I am a bit melancholy. I am trying to be in the moment though, trying to be invested in every moment just like I did when my oldest son was a Senior. I am just sadder because this is the last one. The youngest son who has chosen a profession that will lead him to many corners of the world. He has decided to follow in the Footsteps of his Father and Grandfather and Great Grandfather before him. He is choosing to answer the call and serve his country (after college of course.) I swell with pride at the thought of him doing it but my heart is filled with fear for his safety. I hope you August is full of answers as mine seems to be full of questions. Thanks for listening I am going to attempt to do something creative today. Wish me luck.

Air Assault…

If any of you have been stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky you know exactly what this phrase is. Although I can’t see the point of jumping out of a perfectly good helicopter; many have told me how fun it is.. really.. yea okay.. LOL.. This is my take on the Screaming Eagle Spouse. She is ready to take on any task at a moments notice and just excuse the pun, jumps right in.. I hope she inspires you today as my Army Spouse sisters inspire me everyday!

If any of you good readers out there know a Military spouse whose husband is away, offer her a hand in any way you can. You’d be amazed at how powerful an effect it could have on easing the tremendous burden that they bear. They are truly the unsung heroes of a deployment. Military spouse’s must be father and mother, cook, nurse, handyman, plumber, mechanic and maid and the Comforter in Chief. If you can lend her a hand or even just a shoulder. she could probably use it even if she looks like she’s got it all under control. Support our sisters and brothers who stand behind those who serve.

Soldier’s Wife…

The soldier’s wife poem is one that I hold near and dear and I think every Army Wife who’s got at least one move under her belt has received this poem as a gift. The main image on the larger notepad is paper pieced with a camo outfit and I just love doing that.. The tags on both were made with the most versatile set in my opinion the Take Note set from Papertrey. The Soldier’s Wife image I created myself. Here’s another set I created for my friend. They we a big hit with her. I am so glad she loved them. I hope that the recipients love them just as much. These Army themed papers are really caught my eye as I was walking down the paper aisle. I love the digital camo and combining it with the red, white and blue makes the image pop.. As the wife of a now retired soldier I have been the recipient of the poem I put on this notepad on several occasions. It does a great job of expressing just how difficult the life of a soldier’s wife really is. Its one of my favorites. I created this one especially with my friend Tracey in mind. She really and truly is a spectacular example of the kind of Army wife who all of us aspire to be. She is truly a special lady and I know a treasure to her family. I hope to some day have our paths cross each other again. I wish her well at Fort Campbell and know she will be FABULOUS as a Screamin’ Eagle wife! Its Been SOOO Long!

It has been almost two months since I’ve posted. Boy have things been hectic here. I was in the end stretch of both boards that I sit on and I have a son who is a junior so we were in an SAT frenzy at the house. We were also finishing projects for the seniors who we know and love that are graduating this year. It has been such a whirlwind. In between that I have been doing some personal crafting and making several projects for friends. I will be sharing those with you later…Some exciting news though. My youngest son Jarrett was selected as a National Hispanic Merit Scholar and accepted into the National Honor Society. He was also named the Battalion Commander for his JROTC Unit.. They held their awards ceremony in May and he received 7 awards and his Battalion Commander Selection. He had a few jokes with his dad about outranking him.. LTC versus SFC.. my husband told him it only counts if it comes with a paycheck.. LOL..As for me I am trying to get my youngest licensed to that next year he can drive himself to the gazillion things he has to do. And trying to streamline what we have in the house and plan for next school years projects for our Booster group. Well now your all caught up on the personal how about some CRAFTY!

Here is a set I made for a friend on mine who’s headed to my old stomping grounds in Fort Campbell Kentucky. She’s an awesome chick who’s going to be amazing there! We miss her already! We are all about the Red White and Blue and this is one of my favorite sets. The set contains one Steno Notepad and one Reporter’s Notepad. I hope it inspires you to do something creative today.. Yellow Ribbon Goodie

As I am getting ready to leave my position as the Secretary of the SCFSH I am gathering together all my things to hand over to my successor. I am so in love with this whole series of paper and had been hoarding it for almost a year. But I keep reminding myself that if I don’t use it I won’t have any room to buy new paper. It is gorgeous. More Steno Goodies

The notepad is a perfect gift. Everyone has the need to write something down at any given time. This is another notepad I created for the Ways and Means group in our club. Eloise Green Grass is my most favorite Stamping Bella stamp. She is the perfect compliment to many different projects. The tag at the bottom is from Papertrey Ink but it should looks small to you.. it is.. I trimmed it down and rounded the edges because I thought the full sized tag would be too large for my notepad. I added some dew drops to the corners of my image and its layers to give a little bling to it. You know me there’s always going to be at least a little bling. The jot it down tag was made with Papertrey Inks dies also. I hope Eloise and this cute steno pad inspire you to do something creative today.

Paisley Goodies

When I first saw this paper I just oohed and aahed at it. I had to have it! It is GORGEOUS! Its pink for one, then add in those gorgeous paisley swirls and the sparkle oh the sparkle! This notepad is one of my favorites and I had a hard time parting with it but its for a good cause. It goes to my club’s scholarship funds, well the proceeds do, not the notepad. LOL.. Teacher’s Gift

As per the request of the lovely and talented Laura Evangeline I FINALLY have a new post. Things here are hectic and crazy. My youngest son is a junior and until he has his license this summer I am his personal chauffer and his #1 cheerleader. So my days are filled with fundraising, driving and not to forget my other volunteering. As a long time volunteer with my children’s school I know just how hard so many of their teachers work and I try really hard to let them know just how much they are appreciated by us. My children have been extremely fortunate to have had a teacher every year who involved him/herself fully in their job and the success of the students entrusted to them. When I create gifts with teachers in mind I love to put a little of them into it. This gift was created for a teacher who is a former soldier in mind. This Reporter’s notepad is one of my favorite sizes to work with. I just love the versatility of the notepad. You can use it for so many different things. Although you will find it to be relatively higher in cost.

It makes for a great grocery list, lists of any kind really, and it works great for note taking in meetings ect… I find it to be one of the most useful notepads I own. This one was created as a grocery list. I am adding a pocket to the inside to hold coupons from your list items. I hope this inspires you to so something creative today. My amazingly awesome crafty gal pal Dawn Chau was my inspiration. She created some ooh so cute gift card holders for her first craft show and I thought what a cute idea! I always hate just sticking the gift card in a card. I found a tutorial over at splitcoast and am running with it. I have about a dozen made. This is another notepad I created. I just love this set from MFT its one of my favorites. When I found this unbelievably cute paper at my local scrapbooking store I snapped it up immediately. Love the cute little rain boots in the paper and in the stamp set. I have to figure something out for the packaging though. I am NOT loving the bag and topper.Not sure yet what my plan is but my wheels are turning.. LOL I hope this inspires you today.

Gift Sets

This is one of several gift sets I recently created. You’ll get to see the rest in due time. LOL. I created it using both Stampin Up and Papertrey products. I am so in love with my Papertrey dies. The shapes behind my circular labels are It has a pocket in the inside cover to hold whatever you please. The tall skinny notepad and post it are covered by measuring and adding an 1/8 of an inch to my measurements. I love this retired stampin up paper but am trying to be good about using my favorite papers and NOT hoarding them. I hope this inspires you to do something creative today. It would make an awesome teacher’s gift or little something for a friend.

Hey ya’ll! It’s great to be back. Having a teenager and a busy volunteer schedule is not conducive to blogging regularly. Between all the things my youngest is doing and all my new volunteer duties I am trying to find time to craft and unfortunately blogging is what has suffered. Forgive me.. ya’ll are so kind to keep following me. I appreciate all the love. I am hitting a lull in DS schedule and mine so I will be attempting to blog more now that DH has bought me an early Anniversary present.. I got a new LAPTOP! Loaded with Windows 7 and Office 2010! Let me say I am really LOVING the new Microsoft Live! You can photo edit right there and create your watermark right there too! I have yet to learn about the bazillions of awesome new things I can do and as my learning curve is large when it comes to electronics I ask for your patience. The card I created above is one I am sending out for Christmas. I really LOVE LOVE LOVE the Christmas set from Dawn McVey she truly has the most stunning handwriting. It’s a gate-fold card and it is one of my favorites.

Morning ya'll! I'm baaaack! Things here are so very hectic for us. I have been feverishly working on my halloween treats for the kids so I haven't had time to craft much. Between that and the other million things I need to get done I am swamped! My youngest has drill competition this Saturday. I am planning a farewell dinner for the following Saturday. I have a ton of meetings and on top of all that we are making the transition from Active Duty Military to retirees this Sunday! These are just a few of the things on my to do list! But I knew I hadn't posted in a while and wanted to check in with all my blogging friends. I am posting a card I made a while back with the delightful dahlia set from Papertrey a while back. I am still refining my copic skills but I do love them and am hoping to substantially increase my copic numbers this holiday season! LOL! The sentiment is also another Papertrey set called Around and About (I believe) I used my score pal to add the diagonal accent lines and my stickles and stampin up punch to embellish. I purchased these awesome templates from Becky Roberts and I created this for my good friend.

As Army wives we tend to gravitate towards the Americana look. So I created this one out of

one of my favorite Americana papers out there right now. I filled the purse with some cute

personalized note cards and envelopes. while I am not skilled at creating templates I think I did

pretty well following one.. LOL.. I would recommend that you use ribbon instead of paper for

the handles though. I hope this inspires you to do something outside of your comfort zone.

HOOAH Bella!

Isn't she the absolute cutest? I created a notepad for myself and three other mom's who are part of the JROTC Parent Booster Club at my son's high school. It was a little something nice I wanted to do for the ladies who stepped up to the plate to help our Battalion in the huge undertaking of raising so much money to defray costs for the kids activities. With such a large group of children we don't have enough funding in the budget to allow the children to participate in much of anything by having a Booster group we are able to relieve the pressure off of the instructors and assist in funding the activities our cadets earn the right to participate in and these ladies are generous enough with themselves, their time and their resources to allow us to proceed. I am thrilled to be working with all of them. The notepad is a Steno sized notepad. The image is of course a Bella that was paper pieced with camo paper. The ribbon I found on sale at Wal-Mart. The pearls were added as a little feminine touch to an overall masculine look. The sentiment is one of my favorites from Papertrey Ink's Taking Note Set. Brooklyn Says Thanks!

Back in July one of my closest friends became a Grandma. These notes were created for her Granddaughter's baby shows as thank you's from the baby for the blessings she received. You see she came a few weeks early and was able to attend her own shower. LOL I wonder if she'll always be in a hurry. The baby's nursery colors are pink and brown polka dots so these fit the bill nicely. I must she, and yes I am biased, that she is a stunning little girl and I am so blessed to be a part of her life. My Nifty Hawaiian Gifty Bag..

Morning Ya'll, this is a little gift bag I created with a tutorial from the resources section of www.splitcoaststampers.com. This was super easy to do and a lot of fun to give. It is not something I would normally attempt on my own but I saw a tutorial for it on you tube so I thought I would give it a try. A little walk outside my comfort zone never hurts.. LOL.. Sorry for the prolonged absence. I have been so very busy and with DH home for a little while things are hectic. After 21 years in the military its nice to have him home for a long stretch. But back to why were here.. This is a memory can I made for my new niece. She is growing like a weed and is stunningly gorgeous. I made this altered paint can for her as a little welcome home gift. There are several more photos of the can from different angles I will also be posting the contents of the can in a few days. Here are more photos of the can from different angles.

Antiqued Butterfly Dreams 2

The second in my series..lol.. I am still experimenting with the antiqued look. I am still not sure if I'm sold on the look as a whole but its working out of my comfort zone and that is something that I am determined to do. Keep watching for more of this look as I continue to play with it to see if it grows on me and becomes part of my comfort zone. I hope all is well out there with all in blogger land. This is DH's last week of work before he goes on leave until his official military retirement in November after 21 years of service. It feels strange to be leaving the active duty family after spending most of my life a part of it. But I am looking forward to no more deployments and awful work hours. So cheers to all who are serving or have served this GREAT nation. You're sacrifice makes our daily lives possible. My heart and prayers go out to those whose sweeties are still deployed. Wishing them ALL a swift and SAFE return to their loved ones.

Morning Ya'll... As you can see I am back again posting.. Thanks so very much for all the sweet well wishes that were sent you are too kind! These photos you'll see over the next few days are some that I had in reserve because I craft in spurts (like everyone else.. when the schedule allows) I have my photos all ready in my Blog It to write and post. This is created almost entirely with PAPERTREY products. I have a been a lover of their products since their beginning. I hope your a fan because you'll be seeing a LOT more of their products from me over the next few months! The only thing on here that's not from Papertrey are the blings on the butterfly wings. The rest is all them. I am trying my hand at this antique look I have rarely made this and only at the behest of a customer or friend. I really like the aged look. Maybe due to the fact that I am soon turning 40 and learning that age isn't such a bad thing LOL!! I hope this inspires you to do something outside of your box today. Have a BLESSED day.

Sorry to have been MIA for a while. I took a spill at the top of my stairs and managed to severely strain my calf musce. It was way to tender for them to see if there was any minor tearing so I am surviving as best I can. I have been off my feet and medicated for 10+ days and I am feeling so much better. I am "walking" with a limp but hoping to be better soon. We had my husbands retirement party last friday and due to the limping was unable to participate in the way that I wish I could have. I was there and he said such sweet things that he brought me to tears. We are so very blessed to have had our time at the WTU and hope to continue there in some capacity. It is such a wonderful way to give to those who have sacrificed so very much. Hope to be back soon with some cute things I am working on for my BRAND SPANKIN NEW NIECE! She is just gorgeous.. and those of you who know me know that I hobbled myself right over to that hospital to smell and hold that little angel. Blessings to you all for a joyful rest of the day.

Here's another version of a card I showed you a few days ago. It's amazing what punch you can get with a few strips of coordinating paper. You'll see a few more of these in the days to come. I was amazed at the difference these small strips made on the overall look of the card. Talk about bang for your buck! Four one by one strips of paper that's all you need and you can achieve something awesome. These formats combine with those gorgeous signature greeting from PAPERTREY make something lovely.

I just read the most amazing post from Jennifer HERE about a sweet little angel Ellie and her devoted sister Grace. You can read Ellie's story HERE. But I am warning you have your tissues handy. It's heartbreaking that even though technology surrounds us and miracle cures are often found we have yet to win the battle against cancer. As a mother I can't imagine the heartache of watching your baby fight her battle valiantly and loose anyway. We can only hope to bring a small measure of comfort to this family so saddened at the loss of their sweet girl. Jennifer is trying to gather as many cards as she can to send to Grace, Ellie's twin, who is without her dear sister. If there are ANY you can spare please send them to Jennifer so that she can pass them on to Grace. When you read Ellie's story you'll know just how special a part Grace played in her life. I was experimenting with different shapes and thought I'd create one that fits in one of the standard sized envelope. This one fits into one of those small airmail envelopes. Hawaiian Shores Butterfly Birthday...

As the end of June is upon us I am contemplating the fast approaching holiday. While its always been one of my favorites I am saddened at the thought of celebrating it for the first time without my dear Grandpa. He would have been 89 year's old and I am still struggling to deal with not having him in my life. It's probably affected my mojo more than anything else. The day to day things still get done but I find it difficult to sit and create something from scratch. I am using the sketch book that I created many months ago a la Michelle Wooderson, and of course the Papertrey and Splitcoast galleries. I hope your Fourth is a happy one filled with family, fun, food and friends. Onto the card...

I have been coveting this set that was created by the awesome Niki Estes and I've finally got it in my inky little hands, you can find it HERE. The detail that Niki worked into those butterflies is nothing short of stunning. I am using them to play a little more with my Copics and having fun with the shading and blending. I am still totally loving this Hawaiian Shores color! As you can see it blends perfectly with this DP from SEI that I have had in my stash for a few months. I used one of the new Papertrey dies for the greeting. Other than the DP all the rest of the components are Papertrey. It simple yet packs a punch with the different DP. Butterfly Dreams is a truly gorgeous set. It's so versatile you can make a card for any occasion. I LOVE using this in a Vintage style with the ink distressing. I added the ribbon for punch but I'm not sure I like the result. If you didn't purchase the die that goes with this set, kick yourself, it makes the set extremely user friendly and I am loving the possibilities. Niki Estes did an amazing job designing this set. Raspberry Fizz Stripes...

Hello My Peeps! Its good to finally be back. Between graduation, getting my youngest ready for both camps and a cracked tooth that had to be removed I have been out of commission for a long time. It's so good to be back. My youngest has completed the first camp and is actually at the second camp now. He came home from the first camp adding to his stack of hardware with the Best Executive Officer trophy from camp. Boy was he excited. But your here for the card although I know you won't begrudge a Mama Bear a little bragging about her baby. Now on to the card... I have Raspberry Fizz meeting In Bloom. I saw this style of coloring somewhere but as I am developing CRS I can't for the life of me remember where. If you know the someone who pioneered this style of coloring please leave a comment so I can give them credit. I used my Scor-Pal and my SU! Sell-a-bra-tion punch to add some finishing touches to it. It's simple but gorgeous and Raspberry Fizz has to be one of my all time favorite colors. Most products are of course from PAPERTREY! I hope this inspires you to do something creative today!

Hawaiian Shores Dahlia

I think that this is my most favorite card that I have made recently while playing with my Papertrey's Hawaiian Shores Cardstock and Copic matches. The green leaves really pop on that gorgeous HS cardstock. I am so glad I bought the BIG pack of that color. This is another attempt at the Copic shading techniques taught by the awesome Sally Lynn and Sharon Harnist. They are truly inspiring. One visit to their blogs and your hands are itching to pick up your Copics to see if you can make them do what these two gals can make them do. I never thought I could even come close and I am loving the beginnings of my journey into Copic blending. I am planning on adding a few more gray's to get more shading into my tones. Papertrey really hit the nail on the head with this set. It's now one of my most favorite sets. I am kind of crazy for Delightful Dahlia and In Bloom. Hawaiian Shores Meets In Bloom..

Hawaiian Shores is just gorgeous. Its saturated with color and it looks amazing in person and photographs pretty well IMHO. All products are Papertrey excepts for the stickles and Copics used to color the flower and the embossing folder used to make the polka dots. I am on a tear with the flowers and having so much fun cranking out the cards and increasing my stash that has been depleted lately. I hope this inspires you to do something creative today.

Dahlia Delightfulness 1

I have been practicing my blending techniques with my Copics and I am starting to get the hang of it. I took a Copic class a few months back and I am now getting the hang of all the fabulous ideas that the Copic Queens, Sally Lynn and Sharon Harnist gave us that day. I am thrilled to have been able to meet and learn from these talented ladies. Once I have perfected these techniques I plan on getting a compressor so that I can continue my learning journey and get the absolute most out of my markers. I hope this inspires you to move outside your comfort zone and try new things. I did that by trying Copics and if you look back my work is so much better now than when I first started with them. Rainy Day 2...

Here's the take two version of this card. I was experimenting with the different colors of "rain." This rain is stamped in London Fog by Memento. For a gloomier outlook I guess. It virtually the same card as yesterday. I figured since I was stamping them and I don't have any cards line this in my arsenal I would get a few of these made to have on hand. I am also making cards to give to our local Warrior and Family Support Center here in my home town. This center services the wounded warrior and families of warriors and the staff and families that care for them. I LOVE making cards but don't use anywhere near the amount of cards I make so I am trying to give them to a group who could use a little comfort. I hope this card inspires you to work outside of your comfort zone and create cards not only for happy occasions but ones that may need a card to heal.

Rainy Day with Vintage Rain..

Sometimes there are events that we feel the need to recognize that aren't happy. This little card is perfect for just those kinds of times. You'll see two versions of this card one today and the other tomorrow, they are the same for the most part except for the raindrops. The raindrops here are done in Papertrey's Vintage Cream. So try to see if you can whip up a little something for those awkward occasions. A little clouds a little rain and you got something to brighten someone's day. I found a card just like this at Splitcoast under the Company Galleries in the Papertrey Gallery. I can't for the life of me remember who the crafter is... if you know please leave a comment and give her the credit. It's an awesome card to case. Simple and elegant but very very beautiful. The diagonal Scor-Pal lines are hard to see at this angle but add a lot to the aesthetics of the card. This new Hawaiian Shores color is probably one of my Papertrey Favorites. I am so in love with it, I bought the biggest pack Papertrey sells. I hope it brings some summer fun into your day and inspires creativity in you.

SU Pretties 1...

As we all face tightening budgets the cost of envelopes seem to keep rising. I wanted to make some cards that fit into standard envelopes. These cards fit that billing. They fit into standard sized envelopes that are much lower in cost than A2 envelopes. The open space at the top right is for me to add the sentiment or salutation later. You can make three of these from a 12x12 sheet of cardstock. You will be seeing more of these from me in the days to come.

I am in love with the shape and they are just perfect for sending a short note to let someone know your thinking of them but you don't have a whole lot to say. I think this size is ideal as a thank you note for a teen. With graduation fast approaching I think that this size is perfect for your teen who may not be so wordy. I hope this card fills a void in your arsenal and inspires you to do something creative today.

Mojo Returning...

Ever since my dear Papa passed away two months ago my "mojo" has been at zero. Each time I would sit at my desk I would just feel tired and the weight of missing him was heavy. The other day that changed for me. I finally sat at my desk and felt like I had some "mojo" flowing.. This card is the result of that little infusion of mojo. DH has been encouraging me, since I returned from the funeral to sit at my desk and try and see how it felt. He knew that eventually my mojo would return. I have to say I was in doubt. After all I didn't think I would ever stop being sad that he wasn't here. But DH was right, ssshh don't tell him..LOL, while I haven't stop being sad I seem to find myself in a better place. So all of you who are suffering from the sadness of loss or whatever take heart and remember the phrase.. "This too Shall Pass". I hope this inspires you if you've got a sense of the blues to do something creative today.

If you know me I am all about simple and clean cards. I am not an embellishment queen although I do love the bling.. This card immediately drew my attention. It is simple and quick but it looks amazing. There's a trail coming off of the butterfly that was pierced. I hope it inspires you to do something creative today.

Having lived in Tennessee for almost 8 years I ask you to offer up your prayers for all those in Tennessee affected by the horrific flooding there. So many are suffering and they photos emerging are truly unbelievable. Many have missed them due to the attempted terrorist attack in NYC but please say a little prayer for those who are suffering in Tennessee right now. Any of you who are Papertrey fans can go to Nicole's blog and see some of the photos she posted about the minor flooding she experienced even though the live near the border of Tennessee and Kentucky. Rainy Day Florals...

Here's my Rainy Day girl in an "outfit" that would definitely brighten my day. I added those tiny pearls as a detail. As always I left of the sentiment to be able to personalize it later as I need it. Sorry if the photo is a little blurry I am learning the quirks of a new camera. The parts of the image that were hand colored were done so with Copic Markers. I hope she's inspirational to you today. I will ask a little favor of you gals today.. say a little prayer for my youngest today. He was nominated for Cadet of the Year in his JROTC Battalion. Jot it Down...

Sorry for my absence last week my hubby got home Tuesday after being gone for two weeks and had a few days off before heading back to work so I was away from my computer for a while. But I'm back with another cute little elephant goodie for you. This is the other notepad I made for my Aunt who loves elephants. If you all know anyone who gives selflessly, you know someone like my Aunt. She is the nicest person I know and in my entire tie knowing and then being related to her I have never know her to say a harsh word to anyone. MFT Stamps are adorable and great for practicing your coloring skills on don't cha think? I Love the large spaces that enable you to either paper piece the image or give the opportunity to shade and give depth. Mine still requires lots of work (the shading thing) but I hope that as I add more Copics to my collection I will be able to shade better and add more depth with the gray tones. The card is straight IRL!!! LOL I am not sure why it came out like that in the photo.. It's more Vintage Picnic love for you. I hope it brings some creativity your way. I colored in the flowers with my Prismacolor Pencils and blended with some Gamsol. I just LOVE that technique. It gives the most gorgeous shading to your images and the color is soft and beautiful. Orange Ya Lovin' This Basket???

First let me say thanks so very much to all of you who took the time to send you kind thoughts and gentle wishes of sorrow at the passing of my Papa. They were truly a blessing at a terrible time. You will never know the depth of my gratitude to those who so generously offered their support.

This card is one of my favorites. I am always going to love this set I think its one of those sets that you will continue to return to time and time again. The basket is paper pieced and the flowers and leaves are colored with my Prismacolor Pencils and gamsol. I am steadily working trying to get my mojo back. Sad News...

My dear Papa passed away March 9th 2010. I have just returned from Hawaii for his funeral and burial. What and extremely difficult time for my family. We have lost not only a Father, Grand-Father and Great-Grandfather but a confidant, mentor, counselor and friend. He was truly a remarkable man who placed his family above all else. He always worked to strengthen us and sustain us through good times and bad. When the Reverend came to eulogize him he said that when my Papa stood before God to receive his judgement he believed that when God asked my Papa what he had done with the life he gave him and that my Papa responded by showing him all of us. He said he believed that the Lord said well done Alfredo you are most worthy in the eyes of your God enter the kingdom of heaven. I, too believe that God, upon judging my Papa found him worthy. He was the best man I know and he will be terribly missed. While I weep a seemingly endless amount of tears I weep not for my Papa because I know he has taken his rightful place in heaven. I weep for myself and my family and the tremendous loss of a wonderful patriarch. A Hui Hou Papa!

Loving this Color Combo!

This color combo is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I absolutely fell in love with this DP when SU came out with it last year and I was sad to discover that while I thought I had 3 packs I only had one and a partial left of it. C'est la vie I guess. Guess I should make sure and count before the retired stuff goes away huh? The background DP was in my DP collection that I am slowly trying to use up. I am trying to live by the Michelle Wooderson mantra that there's always going to be another DP you love that will come along. I hope this cute little card inspires you to do something creative today. More Papertrey Hellos!

I promised you more color variations of this card and here they are..

I used all Papertrey Ink stamps and colors. Many of the stamps are from last years Limited Edition Anniversary set. The color here are Ocean Tide, Ripe Avocado and Dark Chocolate. The ribbon is from my ribbon stash. Later this week I'll be posting a photo of the improvements DH made to my crafting station so that I would have better access to the tons of ribbon I have. I have not made much use of my ribbons until now because they weren't accessible.. now they are within my reach so I am going to be using it much much more.. Hope this inspires you to do something creative today.

Happy Tuesday Ladies! It was a great weekend for me and my bunch. Lots of time to spend with the family. Three days off for most of us. Our oldest had school yesterday if you can believe it. When did school start opening on a Federal holiday? I was really surprised that he had class.

Mini Planners for my Pals..

Pretty pretty planners.. I found these too cute and very useful purse planners that I picked up to make for my pals.. I made 5 total. One for each of my 3 friends, one for my mom and one for me.. A girls gotta have her oh so cue accessories right? I used stamps from MFT and cardstock for Papertrey and DCWV to complete these. They are colored with copics. Christmas Quickie Cards

These are two of the cards we sent out this year for Christmas. I tried to do something simple this year as I was under quite a time crunch. I didn't start early on my cards like I normally do and boy did I pay for it in December. Sorry about the blurry photo I was just not able to get a clear photo of that card and I sharpened it as much as I could so.. thus the blurry image. Although you can't tell my snowman image is sparkly. My SU! demo taught us to use the sparkly paints offered in the Christmas mini catalog and using a drop of paint making a shimmery mist using mini misters we found at Michael's and alcohol. You just shake it up and spritz onto your image it dries almost immediately. It makes your image glitter. I LOVE the effect will try and get some better views of the sparkle as I will be using this often. You know me I LOVE the glitz!

The Kraft based card is one of my favorites. I love the simplicity and the colors. The red just pops off the Kraft. The white swirls have stickles spotted throughout. I hope you like them.. I know our recipients did.

Polka Dotted Vintage Love!

I'm back.. with an old favorite of mine. I am working on quite a few new projects with my Papertrey Goodies. I am awaiting my sell-a-bra-tion order so I can't wait to break those open and make something awesome with that too.

This card is definitely in my faves column. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Vintage Picnic set by Mish Wooderson of Papertrey. Paper piercing is one if my go to techniques for this set. You can change your look just by changing papers.. quick and simple no thinking involved. The border below the main image is created with one of my SU! punches. It is my all time favorite punch. I can't wait to get the sell-a-bra-tion punch I know it's going to be one of my faves also.

Sorry for the long time between posts.. things here are crazy we finally worked ourselves away from the fevers and harfing. It seemed to go through the whole house. One at a time.. including our dog! How weird is that????

Hi All,
I hope your holidays were blessed ones. We were lucky enough to have my parents visiting for both holidays. It was so great to see them. Between the cookie baking, holiday parties and getting gifts ready I have been completely swamped. That is until a bout of Gastroenteritis stopped me in my tracks this week. Boy oh boy was I praying to the porcelain god for a few days. I am seemingly on the mend and hope to be back up to snuff by next week. I will be resuming my blogging sporadically until then. Thanks for being patient with me.. You're the best.

A Paisley Rainy Day!

I have another Rainy Day card for you.. but first!.. Guess who I got to meet this weekend! Sally Lynn and Sharon Harnist! How lucky ducky am I? I took a Copic consumer class and got to sit right next to Sharon! She is as sweet as could be! It was awesome to meet them. Sally Lynn is one fabuloso energy girl! If you EVER have a chance to take her class do it! She's a real hoot! You'll learn amazing things from her! My mind is still spinning from all that she taught. I only hope my hands can translate what my head and eyes saw and learned! I was amazed at what I saw and thrilled to have gotten the chance to go!
On to my card! I LOVE this paper. It makes me smile. When I saw it I bought it in whatever colors I could find it in.. It's Making Memories I believe.. Striped Rainy Day

Busy.. busy...busy... Things are always hectic during the holidays and this year is no exception. Although we've added some community service type projects for our kids to do with us this year. As they get older we are ever mindful of strengthening in them the desire to serve their community. This year we are taking them with us to wrap gifts for military kids who probably wouldn't have much and we are also taking them to pack care packages for soldier's serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. We want them to understand that living in this country and enjoying all the things they do comes at a price, and they do to a certain extent because their father has over 20 years in service, but we want them to always be aware of the sacrifices made on their behalf to keep this country safe and strong. The are also taking part in a food drive for our church to donate food throughout the holidays to our local food pantries here in town. Little things that we hope make a big difference in paying forward the blessings we have bestowed upon us. Now on to the card..

Created with my hot pink friends in mind. We all have those girlfriends who are the bright rays in our lives and the make all things easier to bear. I am fortunate to have several and I make many cards with them in mind. I have one friend who always on.. she's funny and full of energy. This card reminds me of her. Stamp Club Creation

Live with Passion.. what a great mantra don't ya think? We created this card in stamp club a few months ago and I am just getting down to posting it now.. I had it in my posting pile.. We did a neat technique with chalk to give this card a soft look. I am not a technique girl so going to stamp club helps me broaden my horizons as far as variations are concerned. Hot Pink Vintage Blast!

Hey ya'll. I hope your Thanksgiving was a blessed one! Ours was full of food, friends and fun. We are so blessed to have a home to host all those who share our lives with us. I love feeding people in my home. It's not a holiday to me without having a house full of friends and family breaking bread together. DH and I are so very fortunate to have such wonderful friends and co-workers. We are truly thankful for all the blessings the Lord has bestowed upon us. While this year has been a tough one we still recognize that we are truly blessed and loved by God. Now, on to the card...
